Cook and Latin Food enthusiast from Venezuela (South America)
Prior to arriving in Australia 11 years ago, after working as a journalist in Venezuela, Alejandra was not much of a cook, her friends would tell you she didn’t event know how to fry an egg.
Homesick for the food of her childhood, Alejandra developed an interest in preparing Venezuelan food to share with her Australian friends. Inspired by much positive feedback, this interest grew into a passion for sharing Latin food and culture.
Alejandra has combined her passion for food with her love of travel; Alejandra has interned in Mexico City’s top 10 best restaurants in Latin America – Pujol Restaurant and travelled widely through, Argentina, Colombia, Cuba, Mexico and Peru uncovering authentic and delicious recipes.
Most recently Alejandra appeared on three national TV shows in Australia and has presented cooking demonstrations at large festivals and trade expos.
Alejandra is continually amazed by the quality and variety of fresh local produce she has been able to use in her Latin dishes in Australia, her biggest dream is to make exotic Latin flavours available for people to prepare at home using local ingredients.
Her mission is to share traditional Venezuelan culture and cuisine through the national dishes.
